IQF Tunnel Freezers

The IQF Tunnel Freezer provides fast, efficient freezing with gentle product handling that locks in moisture and preserves product quality.

Overview

The IQF Tunnel Freezer provides fast, efficient freezing with gentle product handling that locks in moisture and preserves product quality. It features a built-in crust freezing system, which ensures that products retain their appearance, texture, and flavor, making it ideal for high-value products such as seafood, poultry, and ready meals. The freezer offers multiple conveyor levels for crust freezing and full freezing, allowing the product to retain its shape through the process.

Fast IQF crust and core freezing for great yield, quality and appearance

The IQF Tunnel Freezer offers fast and efficient freezing with gentle product handling that improves both yield and quality. The quick freezing ensures that moisture is fully locked in the product and cell structure remains intact. Drip loss is as low as 0.2% depending on product type. Thawed product retains its shape, texture and flavor. The IQF Tunnel Freezer is ideal for freezing products where yield, quality and appearance are of pivotal importance.

Single lane IQF Tunnel Freezer with single or double level crust freezing belts

Ideal for uniform products with the same freezing time.

Multi-lane IQF Tunnel Freezer with single or double level crust freezing belts

Ideal for multiple products with different freezing times

IQF Fish

The IQF Fish and Seafood Freezer is suitable for any pelagic species, groundfish, salmon, scallops and other seafood as well as different value-added products. It can handle product directly from all processes, including any third party filleting, portioning and trimming lines. The final product is fully frozen with a very cold surface temperature that is ideal for glazing. The IQF Tunnel Freezer is innovative, reliable and consistently delivers high quality output.

IQF Poultry

The IQF Freezer for Poultry  is flexible and can handle any product directly from cut-up and deboning lines, including but not specific to: drumsticks, wings, tenders, fillets and other poultry parts. Breaded nuggets, strips and cubes as well as other value-added product can also be frozen. The IQF Tunnel Freezer delivers a product with a smooth top and virtually no belt marks on the bottom due to the patented Teflon crust freezing belt. The final product is fully frozen with a very cold surface temperature that is ideal for glazing.

Why Choose this Product

The IQF Tunnel Freezer offers quick, efficient freezing, reducing drip loss to as low as 0.2%. It ensures high yield, product quality, and appearance by preserving texture and moisture. The challenge it solves

Traditional freezing methods often result in excessive drip loss, surface damage, and inconsistent product quality — especially in high-volume production. This reduces yield, compromises appearance, and increases operational costs. Many systems also lack flexibility to handle different products or run fresh and frozen lines simultaneously.

The IQF Tunnel Freezer solves these problems by offering fast and uniform freezing with gentle product handling. It preserves moisture and texture, maintains product shape, and significantly reduces drip loss. Designed for flexibility and efficiency, it allows processors to run multiple products at once while minimizing energy use and maximizing output quality.

We installed the PolarSwift IQF Tunnel Freezer in our secondary processing facility three months ago, and so far, performance has exceeded expectations. We're running skinless salmon portions and squid rings through it at about 1.5 tons per hour, and the uniformity of the freeze is spot-on. Product separation is excellent—no clumping, even after extended storage—and core temps are consistently reaching -18°C within 6–7 minutes.

We’ve been running the KAPP ScaleMaster 800 in our whitefish line for just over six months, processing mainly tilapia and sea bass. From day one, the unit delivered clean, consistent results with minimal scale residue left on the fillets. The dual-roller system adapts well to size variation without damaging the skin—something we struggled with in previous machines.
