Description
The Director of Operations will lead KAMI Tech’s daily operations across manufacturing, engineering, service, aftermarket support, spare parts, and project execution. This hands-on leadership role oversees a team of approximately 10–12 employees and is responsible for operational performance, project delivery, team development, and process improvement.
This role also supports sales growth across the U.S. West Coast and contributes to forecasting and business development within the global KAPP sales organization.

Key responsabilities
Operations and Team Leadership
· Lead and develop a team of approximately 10–12 employees, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and employee development.
· Collaborate closely with the Director of Finance and HR to support daily management, staffing, compliance, and resource planning.
· Optimize staffing, scheduling, and operational efficiency across manufacturing and service teams.
· Report regularly to senior leadership on operational performance, project status, resource needs, and strategic initiatives.
· Participate in management and board meetings as required.
Manufacturing, Engineering, and Project Delivery
· Oversee manufacturing projects to ensure delivery schedules, quality standards, and budget expectations are met or improved.
· Improve processes for product development, fabrication, manufacturing, testing, and field service.
· Lead development of new products and operational improvements.
· Oversee project logistics, scheduling, resource allocation, and cost control.
· Ensure operations meet quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
· Drive continuous improvement, efficiency, sustainability, and waste reduction across operations and product design.
Purchasing and Resource Management
· Oversee the purchasing of raw materials, components, and tools for the manufacturing department.
· Research and propose capital investments that improve productivity, quality, safety, or capacity.
· Maintain strong working relationships with key suppliers and support vendor evaluation and negotiation as needed.
Sales, Customer Relationships, and Market Growth
· Develop and support customer and sales opportunities across the U.S. West Coast.
· Increase market share and support sales of KAMI Tech products and services, as well as relevant KAPP solutions.
· Participate in trade shows, conferences, customer site visits, and supplier visits.
· Translate technical information into clear business value for customers, non-technical stakeholders, and potential partners.
· Contribute to sales planning, forecasting, and business growth as part of the global sales team.
Qualifications
Required
· Proven leadership experience in manufacturing, engineering, fabrication, technical service, or a related industrial environment.
· Strong understanding of project execution, resource planning, scheduling, purchasing, quality, and cost control.
· Commercial mindset with experience supporting customers, sales, account development, or business growth.
· Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, customers, suppliers, finance, HR, and senior leadership.
Preferred
· Experience in seafood, maritime, vessel services, food processing equipment, refrigeration, stainless steel fabrication, aluminum fabrication, or industrial machinery.
· Background in engineering, operations management, mechanical systems, fabrication, or a related technical discipline.
· Experience working in an international company or collaborating with global sales, engineering, and production teams.
